Unauthorised change of bank account details scam – September 2021

Western Truck Group has been made aware of a scam that involves contacting our customers with an unauthorised change of bank account details notification.

Unfortunately, people and companies across Australia have lost money when hackers impersonate an entity by altering bank details on invoices via electronic communications including email, fax, social media, text, instant messaging, file sharing applications and documents including PDFs or Word documents.

Please note that Western Truck Group will not notify a change of bank details via electronic communications.

Western Truck Group will contact you immediately if there is any doubt about the authenticity of emails or any other electronic communications that appear to have come from you or from us.

We are currently working with our IT cyber risk team to mitigate any further scam threats.
